Into the sanctuary...

I wanted to share some scripture from Hebrews with you all tonight. As I read through Numbers, I am reminded how incredible Christ's sacrifice really is. I cannot imagine having to live like the Israelites lived as they offered up sacrifices for just about everything. In Hebrews 4: 14, the author says:

14. "Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. 16. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

In chapter 7:16,

16. Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. 17. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. 18. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. (For more on Melchizedek, see Genesis 14)

Is that incredible or what? We have access to God's inner sanctuary! Why? Because of Jesus. That is enough for me to rejoice over! This is an opportunity that is too good to pass up. I encourage you to come to the inner sanctuary often. Pray, read, pray, read and worship. Get to know Him! He loves you so much He sent His son to make the ultimate sacrifice so you can come to Him washed white as snow. don't you just want to be right there in the presence of God all the time?

Love you all:-)
Anita
