I'm Yours...

Luis and I are SO excited to release the first single off our upcoming CD, "Your Glory," which will be available soon! "I'm Yours" is now available on itunes, at Amazon and Rhapsody. You can also listen to the whole song on the sidebar here.  We wrote this song together, and for that to be first single is really exciting for us.

This has been a long and difficult process from the beginning. We have spent the last year and a half writing, arranging, recording, mixing, then doing it all over again. In order to do that, we have traded or sold all the old gear we had and replaced it with one thing at a time. But God had been amazing, and has provided everything we needed to make this offering for Him.

We have been so blessed that between the two of us we could accomplish every part of this process ourselves thereby making it truly an "Indie" project. Along the way, my 11-year-old developed a serious interest in photography, so all the photos were taken by Miranda Pavey. Mastering was accomplished by Matthew Gray, who also did Hillsong's "God is Able" in English and Spanish.

We were initially inspired to do this project by Darlene Zschech. Her heart for God and for reaching people was so evident when we met her at a conference last year at The Cove, that we knew we had to do our part in using our gifts for Him.

We also appreciate so much the encouragement and prayer we received form Mike Harland, Director of Worship for Lifeway Christian Resources.

We only want to encourage people to know Christ and His incredible sacrifice for us. This project has truly been a sacrifice for us, and for our families, so we dedicate it to our children: Miranda, Evelyn, Ana Maria, Lara and Cristian. We are so excited to give our 5 loaves and 2 fish as an offering to the God who can take it and use it for His glory.

We hope you are blessed!

Love in Christ,

Anita and Luis

How great are You God!

God is amazing!! How He weaves the different threads of our lives into something for His glory, just blows my mind!

It was a year ago that we met Darlene Zschech at the Cove.  That conference for worship leaders was so amazing that we came away energized and with new purpose. We knew that we had to dedicate ourselves in total abandonment to service of God. So we started looking for opportunities to serve Him wherever possible. The opportunities came, and we took them.

We also started writing songs about our Christian journey and recording them. Despite a lot of sacrifice to keep the project going, God provided everything we needed along the way. I have often referred to the project as our five loaves and two fish. We started with a laptop and ProTools. Between the two of us we wrote, arranged, recorded every instrument, every vocal then mixed. Then we did it again...over and over.  There have been times when we were both so discouraged that we wanted to quit, but somewhere a voice kept telling us that God had a purpose for our songs. So we forged ahead in total and blind faith. Then we started trying the songs out anywhere we could...and God used them.

Fast forward a year later to another conference that has been life-changing for us...Song DISCovery in the Round at Brentwood Baptist in Nashville. We came away knowing that we are not crazy after all!

Our journey is ours. We know that God has given us the tools to accomplish what He wants. We have no desire to chase success as defined by our culture. God will do what He wants with everything we have to offer Him. So we keep working and doing our very best with what He has given us, then watch as He uses it for His glory. We cannot do anything apart from Him, but we can do ALL things through Christ...

So we offer up our five loaves and two fish, and we will make sure those loaves and fish are the absolute best we can offer. That's all we can do. God will do the rest.

From Psalm 37:

"Trust in the LORD and do good.

Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the LORD.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the LORD,
and wait patiently for him to act."

How these words of David inspire me! We have had new energy injected into our project, and we are cleaning up some tracks that need to get out this weekend. We have patiently waited on God to take our five loaves and two fish, and we know He is working! We have enjoyed so much as musicians in the past...great equipment, opportunities, talented people, etc., but we have truly found that being left with an acoustic guitar and a keyboard mean that only God can take that and make something out of it.

We are about ready to go out and take our music and testimony to people, but we sold the last of our old audio gear and are down to three loaves and one fish, lol. God knows what we need to get going, so we wait for Him to act. We know that we have committed everything about this music to Him and to reaching people who so desperately want hope. We trust Him and we wait expectantly:-)

God's Word sometimes makes us uncomfortable. Being a sinner myself and human, I am all too aware of that. God's Word challenges us to become more and more like Christ. As we grow in our faith, more and more light is shed on the darkness. We grow, we learn. We pass that on. Discipleship.

Wouldn't it be great if we could keep others from making the same mistakes we have made by sharing our experiences with them? Sometimes you can, sometimes not. Sometimes people don't want to hear it. I know because I was one of those people who didn't want to hear it. But thank God, He did not waiver, and His Word did not waiver. I had to make the choice to come back to Him, humbled and broken. I did, and through that, I experienced first-hand how incredible His grace, mercy and forgiveness are. Why? Because I know where He brought me from.

I believe He did that for a reason...and that reason is for me to commit everything I have to Him. That means that I share my experiences with others in hopes of helping them as they go through the same things.  And that's why today I can lean on Jesus' words from Matthew 5:

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way."

Maybe these words will encourage you too. Don't give up. We know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. How amazing He is:-)

For praise and worship teams...

From Isaiah 11: the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord. In that day the heir to David’s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world.

It is the knowledge of God, the understanding of His person and His ways, that sets the captive free. Never confuse your leadership with people’s ongoing freedom in Christ. It is He who sets captives free, and it is He that you have a mission to lead people to. Lead God’s people, but then get out of the way and direct their need and attention to Him, in the songs you choose for worship and in the words you speak in private.

Team Prayer: Jesus, only you can set the captives free. Help me to lead people to you, and not to myself.

We are headed to the studio today. The Primitive Quartet is recording, and since I've been working with/coaching one of the singers, we're going to be there while they do vocals. Should be lots of fun!! They are so great!! Can't wait to be around some musicians in a studio again:-)

"Trust in the Lord, and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you."

From Psalm 37: 3-5. these are words that really give me perseverance. Our desire is just to honor Him in everything we do. From the moment we started this cd project, we knew it would be an uphill battle. We knew it would require sacrifice. But, we knew God would prepare us, and the people He wants to hear our music. For every step forward, there seems to have been 4 backward, but then a little glimmer of God's faithfulness would shine like a star in the darkest night, leading us to where He wants us to go. And we follow...committing every note to Him along the way.

To those of you who have been encouragers, and you know who you are, thank you for being the light in the darkness!  That is definitely God working!! In the meantime, Luis has truly sacrificed big time, and his many hours of very tedious work are paying off! I'm so thankful for him and for his dedication to committing what he does for God.

So I just encourage you to commit every aspect of your life to matter what it is you do. It's a 24-7 thing, and the rewards are eternal:-)

Many, many prayers and thoughts this morning for those affected by the earthquake in Japan and Tsunami heading across the pacific...

What a great worship service tonight!! Janice's testimony was incredible. She is truly anointed, and she knows what God's mercy is. I'm hoping we can get a ministry started like her church has in Asheville. That's the way to be salt!!

Well, Hillsong United is in Atlanta...tomorrow night!! How did I miss that?? I With a few days more notice we definitely would have been there for that. They know how to lead you right into the presence of God. Incredible musicians with hearts for God, and all the logistics to make it happen.

As the pastor emphasized, let's go out and be salt and light in a world that so desperately needs hope!

Yesterday was an exciting day as I finally received my copyright certification for 5 of my new songs! Yay!! It took forever. This was the first time I did it online, so I thought it would be faster. We only need to get one more for the CD to be complete, which will include 6 original songs.

I know God has a purpose for this music, and I'm anxious to get out and start doing it!

I have to remember that He is in control. How wonderful it is to know that:-)

Starting the week...

I SO needed to hear that sermon this morning! What an incredible message for us all to meet persecution head on by praying sincerely for those who persecute. It was an incredible worship service. And it just got better tonight. How thankful I am that God's faithful love endures forever. I really felt the presence of God there in that intimate setting surrounded by people who just love God and want to worship with His people.

So many needs are ahead of us this week. I especially have Marty on my heart this week. I just pray for his strength and courage knowing that healing is in the hands of God, and that He is always faithful. What a blessing Marty is in our lives. He always asks how the CD is going. He will definitely get the first one when it's finished!!

I pray for more people to help out by taking hot meals to Doug and Melissa as she is recovering at home.

There are many other needs and I know you are all lifting up to the Father as well. Remember what Pastor Tim said about staying in the Word...don't forget your Bible until Sunday morning. Read it. It will revolutionize your life and the lives you touch.

Remember that His love does endure forever:-)

Another week...

What amazing worship services we had today! Pastor Tim's sermons were again inspiring and challenging. I love that. I love being challenged to change something in my own life that will not only make my relationship with God grow stronger, but will help me reach others. I love that he read Psalm 139. That is absolutely one of my favorite passages, especially the NLT version HERE.

It was exciting for us to finally do one of the songs from our upcoming CD, "You Give Me Joy." Every little boost we get for that project goes a long way. We know God has a plan for it, we just don't know what that is yet, lol. We will be featuring another one, "Your Glory" on March 6 when Janice Anderson comes from Asheville to give her testimony about drug addiction and recovery. When I heard her speak, I immediately thought about this song which is based on Psalm 63. I emailed her the MP3, and she agreed it could be her testimony.

I'm so looking forward to her coming. If you know someone who is struggling with addiction, or is in the process of recovery, you will not want to miss this service. Her story is amazing because her faith is amazing.

Pray for our upcoming services. Pray for each other as we are out this week, hopefully being Jesus to someone. Pray for workers for the harvest.

In Christ:-)
